How long does it usually take?

Most straightforward websites take a few weeks from the point where your words and pictures are with me. A single-page event or course landing page is usually much quicker; a larger site with courses, payments or a members' area takes longer.

The honest answer is that timings depend far more on content than on building. Whenever a project takes longer than expected, it is almost always because photographs or wording are still being gathered. Nothing is rushed, and no date is promised until we have both agreed what is being built. Your own timescale will be confirmed with you in writing before any work begins.

What I need from you

Very little, and nothing technical. A sense of what you do and who you help, any words you already have, photographs you are happy to use, and your honest reaction when you review the drafts. If wording is not your strength, say so early and I will draft it for you to correct.

What happens after launch

You are not left on your own once your website is live. I recommend that your domain name is registered in your own name so it belongs to you, and once your agreed project balance has been paid in full the completed website created for you is yours, subject to the terms of any third-party platforms and services it uses.

Most clients simply carry on sending me their changes rather than learning the software, so ongoing support and updates are available as and when you need them. You are not tied in either: if you later decide you would rather manage your website yourself or move to another provider, an appropriate handover can be arranged, with any costs agreed with you in advance.
